A Fabulous New Way to Help in the Fight to End Breast Cancer

October is breast cancer awareness month and this morning on the Today Show, I just learned about this wonderful way to become more involved in the fight to end breast cancer - join The Love/Avon Army of Women. This initiative offers women the opportunity to directly participate and partner with the scientists who are conducting research that will end this disease--once and for all. The objective is to more fully understand the mystery of how and why breast cancer develops in order to find a way to keep it from occurring. To this end, they are actively recruiting women (and men have had breast cancer or have a family history) to take part in upcoming research projects. Please go to: https://www.armyofwomen.org/getinvolved

Breast cancer has been around for decades, but it does not have to be our future. We can be the generation that stops breast cancer once and for all by figuring out what causes this disease and how to prevent it!

Sign up for your sister, mother, daughter, granddaughter, best friend, and the woman you met last week. And please encourage all the women you know to join. This is YOUR chance to be a direct part of the research that will end breast cancer. That thought is so empowering to me - to focus on what each one of us can directly do to help PREVENT breast cancer vs. SURVIVE breast cancer!

It takes just a minute and is FREE to join. But the impact we will have will last a lifetime.

50 Ways to Improve Your Life

To start the New Year off on the positive foot that it should, there is a great segment in U.S. News & World Report - "50 Ways to Improve Your Life". Now that's a title guaranteed to sell magazines! Some of these things are obvious and much easier to do than others (i.e., "Get a new toothbrush" vs. "Start a nonprofit"), but they are all positive inspiration for us to make change to ourselves (both big and small), either directly or through doing good for others. There really never can be too many things out there that motivate us to be better and do better. Even though we're not aiming for perfection, (sometimes its just a little tweaking and sometimes its a lot more), self-improvement never ends. Just like education its a lifetime exercise.
